Information about us and our history

The Investitionsbank Sachsen-Anhalt (IB) is the development bank of the region of Saxony-Anhalt. It was founded in 1993 as an institution to promote regional development and was newly established as a bank in 2004. Since then, the IB has also offered promotional loans and financial products.

Facts & figures

The IB cooperates closely with the regional government of Saxony-Anhalt as a financial service provider.
The IB offers financial products and services in different fields of funding such as economic development, most importantly the support of SMEs, technology and innovation, culture, education and media, housing and infrastructure.

The portfolio of the IB contains approximately 90 promotional programmes – loans, grants as well as guarantees – and a wide range of related services and products. In 2022, the IB approved a volume of around 689 million EUR for grants and nearly 269 million EUR for loans. It employed 485 people last year.
